The arrival of new air is here – and the humidity will continue to drop this evening and overnight. Matt says to open up the windows tonight. Friday features beautiful weather regionwide with dry conditions, bright skies and pleasant temperatures. All outdoor plans are good to go!

Tonight’s Forecast: Comfortable and Cool

  • Temperatures: Still in the 70s this evening.
  • Overnight Lows: Dropping to either side of 60 degrees overall.
  • Northern New England: Expect lows in the 50s.
  • Cape and Islands: Humidity will linger until around midnight but will improve overnight.

Outdoor Outlook for Friday: Exceptional Weather

Mountains:

  • Highs: Valleys in the 70s, summits around 65-70.
  • Conditions: Expect some clouds from mid-morning to late afternoon, but no precipitation.
  • UV Index: Still high despite the clouds.

Lakes Region:

  • Air and Water Temperature: Both around 80 degrees.
  • Conditions: Light wind with very little chop, and a high UV index.

Beaches:

  • Morning Wind: Starts with a northwest wind shifting to a sea breeze.
  • Temperatures: Hit 80 degrees before cooling to the 70s in the afternoon.
  • Water Temp: Running in the 60s for east-facing beaches.
  • Rip Current Risk: Low for most areas, but moderate from Horse Neck Beach down the South Coast to the Islands.

Highs Across the Region:

  • General: 80 to 85 degrees for most areas.
  • North Country: Slightly cooler.
