Tuesday Evening Essentials: Chilly Wind, ISS Flyby & School Days Ahead

In today’s Evening Essentials, Danielle Noyes highlights the ongoing strong northwest winds, which are expected to continue through tonight with gusts 25-35 mph for many. While these gusts should ease a bit by tomorrow, New England will experience very chilly conditions as colder air settles in. Tonight, temperatures will dip into the 20s for much of the region, with some spots in the far north seeing teens. Although eastern Massachusetts and the South Coast may stay in the 30s, a hard freeze is expected in most other areas. Tomorrow, daytime highs will only reach 40 to 45 degrees, and with the added wind, it will feel several degrees colder. Expect a beautiful, mostly sunny day, though the Cape may see some ocean-effect clouds in the afternoon. As we head toward the end of the week, colder weather will continue, so make sure the kids are bundled up for school with hats, gloves, and warm layers.  For a detailed look at the forecast and other weather updates, check out the 1DegreeOutside app – as it grows past 31,000 downloads with thousands of 5 star reviews!
