Records for Monday are around and just over 80 degrees, so New England will flirt with those warm records Monday as an incredible stretch of weather rolls on. With a busy breeze Monday, brush fire danger will be elevated but otherwise shorts and short sleeves will likely be the outfit of choice for many by the afternoon! Matt Noyes has a look ahead at the upcoming week – and a New England average 14-day looking at a *chance* of returning 70s to start November – in our Evening Essentials video, here!
Clear and Mild Night
Meteorologist Matt Noyes here with your Sunday Evening Essentials from the 1DegreeOutside Weather Network. As we wrap up a gorgeous day, we head into a clear, crisp evening. While temperatures will dip into the 40s for much of New England, some areas, like Cape Cod and Nantucket, will stay near 50, keeping frost at bay. Cooler spots may briefly dip into the 30s, but the overall feel is unseasonably mild for this time of year.
A Warm Week Ahead
The mild weather continues into the workweek. Monday morning will be cool, but by the afternoon, it will feel more like summer with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s—pushing near-record highs. This stretch of warmth continues through Wednesday, with highs in the 70s across New England. Expect cooler coastal areas to stay in the 60s on Tuesday as sea breezes develop.
Late Week Changes
By Thursday, a cold front will sweep through, shifting the winds and bringing a drop in temperatures. The brisk northwest wind will push highs down into the 50s in northern New England and 60s in the south, offering a clear reminder that fall is still with us. A quick shower may accompany the front Wednesday night or early Thursday.
Looking Ahead
Though the warmth is unusual, we may see another round of mild temperatures toward the end of the 14-day outlook, with highs potentially returning to the 70s in the following week. Of course, you can always track these changes on the Noyes’ 1DegreeOutside weather app.
