Hit or miss showers in spots will continue to dwindle through this evening, with variable cloud cover across the region tonight and cool temperatures. Thursday features a mainly dry day for a lot of the region, though a few showers and isolated thunder is possible, mainly in northern New England. We’ve been tracking a few showers and brief downpours today, and while they’re fairly short-lived, they’ve made their presence known, including a quick one at the 1Degree Outside office. As we head into the night, temperatures will drop from the 60s into the 50s, with some spots dipping into the upper 40s. It’s shaping up to be another cool, quiet, and comfortable night for sleeping.
Most of the leftover showers and downpours will dissipate as the night progresses, though a few may linger in northwestern Maine through the first part of the overnight. Elsewhere, expect mainly clear skies.
Tomorrow morning starts with sunshine, but clouds will build in as the day goes on. Thankfully, there’s enough dry air in place to keep the threat of showers low, especially in central and southern New England. Any showers that do pop up should be isolated, so no need to cancel your outdoor plans. However, in far northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, there will be some scattered showers, and a few thunderstorms may develop, bringing brief downpours, lightning, or gusty winds.
Highs tomorrow will be cooler than average, but still pleasant:
