Phenomenal weather kicks off New England’s weekend Friday and Saturday, though Matt Noyes says the chance of scattered showers starts rising Sunday and reaches a peak on Monday. Full details below and in the forecast video!
The weekend is highlighted by beautiful conditions Friday and Saturday as high pressure keeps the weather calm and pleasant across New England. Expect sunshine, low humidity, and mild temperatures, making for perfect outdoor days. Highs will range from 80 to 85 degrees, with night temperatures dipping into the 50s—ideal for a cozy fire pit evening.
As we head into Sunday, a cold front approaching from the northwest will still be far away, but a moderate amount of atmospheric energy aloft will elevated the chance of pop-up showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon. This pattern will continue and intensify into Monday with scattered showers, thunderstorms, and some downpours likely as a jet stream disturbance settles over the region. Some leftover showers may linger on Tuesday, but by midweek, the humidity will begin to decrease, leading to more comfortable conditions.
Looking ahead, the early call on next weekend looks promising, with highs in the 70s to low 80s though we’ll keep track of the timing of a disturbance that may move through next Saturday – early to say for sure on timing, of course.
