If you’re looking for a pleasant weekend, you’re in luck—here’s what to expect as we move through the next few days and into the start of next week.
Over the past 24 hours, rainfall totals have been all over the map—literally. Some areas saw nothing at all, while others, particularly in northwestern New England, picked up over an inch of rain.
There will be some lingering rain in eastern New England Saturday morning as the cold front continues to push offshore, particularly from Down East Maine to Cape Cod. However, there’s good news: rapid improvement will move in for many.
As the day progresses on Saturday, the sun will break out, and you’ll notice the humidity gradually dropping. This drier air will sweep in from west to east, bringing a much more comfortable feel by evening. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid to upper 80s in southern New England, with upper 70s in western areas. By Saturday night, we’ll see temperatures dropping into the 50s in western, central, and northern New England, with 60-65 degree readings in southern areas.
Sunday is shaping up to be a beautiful day. Expect highs in the mid to upper 70s from the Champlain Valley down into central New Hampshire and the Berkshires, with temperatures around or just above 80 degrees in southern New England. The wind may let up enough to allow for some local sea breezes at the coast.
Looking ahead to Monday, we’ll see more clouds as a bit of upper-level energy swings through the region. This could bring a brief, light shower, but it’s nothing to cancel plans over—many areas won’t see any rain at all. Highs will be a couple of degrees cooler, staying in the 70s to lower 80s.
By Tuesday, the sun returns, and we’ll enjoy bright skies with local sea breezes once again kicking in at the coast. Highs will be right around 80 degrees, and the humidity will remain comfortably in check.
