We’ve combined the usual Noyes’ Noyes/1°Outside Today and 1°Outside Insights videos into one big one today, given the holiday – so, if you just want the notes and a fireworks or beach forecast, you’ll dip in and out, whereas if you want details through the holiday weekend, you’ll enjoy the entire video.  As usual with our Insights posts, we’re including a text post below.

Quick Forecast for the Weekend

  • Today (Friday): Scattered showers and thunderstorms. More likely in southern and eastern New England in the morning, shifting north in the afternoon. Evening showers possible on the Cape.
  • Saturday: Multiple rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the interior regions. Humidity remains high.
  • Sunday: Slight drop in humidity for northern New England. Southern areas, including the Cape, will remain humid with a lesser chance of showers.

Detailed Holiday Weekend Forecast

Friday, July 5th:

  • Morning: Rain likely in southern and eastern New England.
  • Afternoon: Scattered showers and storms more likely in northern New England. On the Cape, showers may linger into the evening.
  • Evening: Temperatures in the 70s with lingering humidity and the possibility of stray showers.
  • Highs: Near 90 degrees with continued humidity.

Saturday, July 6th:

  • Morning: Dry start for most, but high humidity persists.
  • Afternoon: Multiple rounds of scattered showers, downpours, and thunderstorms will develop, particularly in the interior regions.
  • Highs: Rising into the 80s for most areas with high humidity.

Sunday, July 7th:

  • Morning: Rain likely in Cape Cod and portions of mid-coast Maine and down east. Most of New England dries out by morning.
  • Afternoon: Slight drop in humidity for northern New England. Southern areas, including the Cape, will remain humid.
  • Highs: Easier to reach 90 degrees with the drop in humidity, especially in northern New England. The South Coast and Cape will remain humid and slightly cooler.

  • Humidity: Sticking around, fueling rounds of showers and storms, especially today and tomorrow. Air quality might decline for sensitive individuals.
  • Fireworks: Both tonight and tomorrow night will be in the 70s with lingering humidity and the possibility of stray showers lingering into the evening.
  • Beach Weather: 40% chance of showers and storms at any time. Highest chance in the morning for southern New England beaches, shifting to central and northern New England beaches in the afternoon. Rip currents are not a problem for New England, but moderate risk remains for Southside Long Island and New Jersey.
