Friday Noyes’ Notes/1°Outside Today: Pockets of Rain, Gusty Wind & Coastal Flooding

Today starts off damp for some of us, with pockets of rain rotating into parts of eastern New England from an offshore storm. Expect gusty winds at the coast, reaching 30-40 mph, especially along the islands (45 mph), and minor coastal flooding through Saturday due to high tides and strong onshore winds. Showers and light rain will be most prevalent across eastern New England, including Cape Cod and the South Shore, while Western New England sees some sunshine that could even spark an isolated thunderstorm in Vermont. Temperatures will range from the 60s along the coast to the 70s inland, staying cooler than average in most areas.

Heading into Saturday, cloudy skies and occasional showers will continue, primarily in eastern New England, while Sunday brings gradual improvement. Coastal conditions remain rough, with high rip current risks and elevated seas, making it a hazardous time to be in and on the water.
