Happy Friday all! Many of us will climb into the mid-60s under sunshine and increasing clouds today. The hoodie or spring jacket works for this morning, but short sleeves/shorts & sneakers are great for the kiddos as they head out the door.
A warm front approaches late today, and that means some passing showers this evening and tonight. A few brief downpours are possible, especially in Vermont, southern New Hampshire, and along the Route 2 corridor. Showers may also clip the Merrimack Valley and could come close to Boston between 4–5 PM, but they’ll be brief and very spotty.
If you’ve got tickets to the Red Sox game at Fenway tonight, conditions look mostly dry, with temperatures in the upper 50s to start the game and lower 50s by the end. Any isolated shower risk should be brief and passing.
Saturday is the big warm-up. We start with scattered morning showers, mostly in northern New England and some leftover light rain farther south. By mid to late morning, most of the region dries out—and that’s when sunshine breaks through and temperatures shoot up. Many will climb well into the 70s, and a few southern New England spots may even touch 80°F. A brief thunderstorm may pop later in the day (timing in our Insights video), but the day is far from a washout—it’ll be remembered for the warmth.
Easter Sunday cools down a bit but still brings above average temperatures and dry conditions, with a brisk breeze and sunshine. And Marathon Monday? It’s shaping up to be nearly perfect: dry, not too warm or cool, with low humidity and a light breeze—ideal conditions for runners and spectators alike.
If you’re hitting the road or staying close to home for the start of school vacation week, we’ve got you covered daily with fresh updates.
🌼 Allergy sufferers, take note: pollen counts will remain high, so be ready for that springtime sneeze.
