Our “deeper dive” in 1°Outside Insights is, of course on a Friday, focused heavily on the weekend. Matt says humidity will increase gradually but steadily this weekend, and while showers will come through at a couple of different times, severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday late day and evening.
Friday: Gorgeous Air
- Evening: The pleasant conditions continue overnight with comfortable temperatures.
Saturday: Increasing Clouds and Humidity
- Morning: The day starts with filtered sunshine across central and eastern New England.
- Afternoon: Showers will begin moving into areas like Lake Memphremagog and Lake Champlain, gradually spreading near the Canadian border. The Lakes Region and White Mountains will see an increase in the chance of showers by mid to late-afternoon.
- Evening: Along and inside of Route 495, the chance of showers goes up toward the evening, and by late evening, showers are expected for many areas.
- Temperatures: Highs will be in the 70s to near 80°F.
- Humidity: Humidity will start to rise, making it feel increasingly sticky by Saturday night.
Sunday: Warmer with Showers and Thunderstorms
- Morning: Leftover showers will affect southeast New England, primarily from Boston southward.
- Midday: A few isolated showers may pop up, but many hours of the day will be dry.
- Afternoon and Evening: The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases later in the day as a cold front slices into the warm and humid air. Some storms may be severe with locally damaging winds.
- Temperatures: Highs will reach the mid-80s, with the Cape seeing slightly cooler temperatures due to morning cloud cover.
Monday: Cooler and Less Humid
- Weather Shift: Low pressure off the coast will take much of the rain away, leaving behind lingering clouds and sunshine.
- Air Mass: A transition to a nicer, more comfortable air mass begins, similar to what we’re experiencing today.
- Temperatures: Highs will generally be in the 70s, with lower humidity making it feel very pleasant.
Looking Ahead: Comfortable Start to the Week
- Monday Night: Expect a super comfortable night with cool temperatures.
- Tuesday: A very nice day with comfortable air, low humidity, and pleasant conditions.
