Friday 1°Outside Today/Noyes Notes: Glorious Independence Day Weather!

Happy Independence Day New England! Our forecast for this 4th of July is nearly flawless across New England. A fresh air mass has moved in, bringing drier and more comfortable conditions. Sunshine dominates today’s skies, with high temperatures reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s for most – though it will be a tad cooler in far northern New England.

Winds are out of the northwest today, though some coastal areas, especially in northeast Massachusetts, may see local sea breezes develop during the afternoon. While most of the region stays cloud-free, Danielle notes that far northern Maine and northern New Hampshire may see a few puffy clouds or even an isolated shower or downpour by late day, particularly near the Canadian border.

Fireworks plans this evening are a “go” nearly everywhere. Temperatures will fall through the 70s during the evening, and with the dry air in place, many suburbs will dip into the 60s – with many falling into the 50s overnight. It will be a beautiful, clear night for viewing fireworks with just a light northwest breeze.

Looking ahead, Saturday will be warmer, with highs into the 80s and humidity still in check. By Sunday, however, the sticky air and heat return – Danielle notes more about that in the latest “Insights” video on the app and right here on our website.
