Monday 1°Outside Insights: Relief is ON THE MAP!

We’ve been showing you in our 14-day dew point forecast in our Insights videos last week (an add-on we created thanks to YOUR requests!) that relief was coming for later this week…now, Matt shows us, it’s on the map!  Ahead of that new air, we’ll find several opportunities for thunderstorms but, like so many of the storms lately, rain amounts will depend on precisely where the storms hit.

Heat Wave and Thunderstorms

We’re back into another heat wave this week, with multiple disturbances coming through the northern tier of the United States. A meaningful cold front is on the horizon, promising relief with drier, cooler air by the end of the week.

For today and tomorrow, expect hit or miss thunderstorms, with a higher chance of severe storms across upstate New York. New England may see isolated severe storms as well with spots of damaging wind gusts. The main event comes on Wednesday when the cold front sweeps through, bringing a higher likelihood of scattered severe storms, especially later in the day.
