Monday Noyes’ Notes/1°Outside Today: Strong to Severe Storms

Today is expected to be an active weather day with scattered thunderstorms, some of which may become strong to severe, particularly between noon and 8 PM. The primary threats include large hail, localized flooding, and brief damaging wind gusts. Some low clouds and patchy fog burn off this morning giving way to partial sunshine. Storms develop in parts of northern New England first and are likely to expand across central and eastern New England this afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s, with humid air in place and cold air aloft, creating an unstable atmosphere.
