In this hot and humid airmass, a few thunderstorms have developed, though they aren’t widespread. After sunset, a round will come out of Update NY, in weakened form and bring the chance of thunder in western New England during the late evening and first part of the overnight. Otherwise it’s all about the heat & humidity these next few days, with more storms likely Tuesday and Wednesday. Danielle has your Tuesday Outdoor Outlook and more in this video. There have been a couple of storms popping up due to the heat and humidity. They’re not widespread, but keep an eye to the sky, especially around Worcester County and either side of the Mass Turnpike this evening. Another batch of storms is expected to come out of upstate New York after 9-10 PM, potentially affecting Western New England. These storms should weaken by then, but rumbles of thunder are possible from Vermont down to the Berkshires and western Connecticut.
Overnight, the weather will be relatively quiet with a slight chance of a shower or downpour on the South Shore and Cape Cod by tomorrow morning. Lows tonight will remain muggy, ranging from the 60s to 70s.
Tomorrow’s weather will be all about the hazy, hot, and humid conditions. Expect another batch of thunderstorms from west to east in the late afternoon and evening. These will be hit-or-miss storms, so not every community will experience one, but the heat and humidity keep the risk in place. An isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible.
Tomorrow’s highs will be between 90 to 95 degrees, with 80s in far northern New England and along the South Coast. Even Cape Cod will see upper 80s. Factoring in the humidity, the heat index will be between 100 to 105 in the hottest spots of central and southern New England, so it’s another day to take it easy.
