New England is catching a glancing blow from a strong ocean storm that will stay mostly to our south but will bring some light snow to parts of the region Thursday into Thursday night. For those along the South Coast, Cape Cod, and the Islands, a coating to 1″…and as much as a few inches of snow are possible, while the rest of New England sees no impact. Once this system moves out, the stage is set for a great winter weekend—finally a storm-free one!

After days of gusty conditions, winds will continue to ease. Most of New England will see winds under 15 mph Thursday, though Cape Cod may see gusts up to 30 mph in the evening. As the storm moves away Friday, northwest winds will pick up again, bringing gusts 20-35 mph—not damaging, but enough to add a little bite to the air.
