Weekend Insights:
Brisk, Bright & Seasonal – Elevated Fire Danger Remains

This weekend’s weather will bring plenty of sunshine and classic fall conditions across New England. Here’s what to expect:

Tonight:

  • Perfect football weather for Friday Night Lights—dry but brisk. Expect feels-like temperatures in the upper 30s with wind gusts up to 20 mph in eastern areas.

Saturday:

  • A breezy day with gusts of 20-30 mph keeping fire weather concerns elevated in parts of the region. Highs will reach 55-60 degrees (40s far north) but feel cooler due to the wind. Expect abunant sunshine, perfect for outdoor activities.

Sunday:

  • Another bright day with lighter winds (10-20 mph, mainly along the coast). Highs remain in the 50s for most, 40s in the North Country. Some late day clouds arrive.

Monday:

  • A cold front will bring a period of clouds and a chance of showers in central and western New England especially. Any rainfall will be brief and light.

Looking Ahead:
By the end of the month, colder air bottled up from Siebria and now Alaska will push into the U.S., increasing the chances for storminess and below-normal temperatures in New England as well.

Tropical Update:
Tropical Storm Sara is bringing heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of Central America. This farther west track means it won’t threaten the U.S., though we’ll continue monitoring its progress.
