A warm March weekend is on the way with highs in the 50s & 60s, but strong winds and heavy rain are set to arrive Sunday night into Monday.

Today is a great day to get outside! Sunshine mixed with some coastal clouds, highs in the 50s, and a light breeze make for a pleasant March day.  Tonight, clouds return, keeping overnight lows mild in the upper 30s to near 40° across much of the region.

Sunday: The Warmest Day… But The Wind Ramps Up

💨 Wind Gusts: 40-50 mph inland, 50-60 mph along the South Coast & Cape Cod by evening.
🌡️ Highs: Mid to upper 60s—70° possible if we see breaks of sun!
🌧️ Rain: A few isolated showers during the day, but the heaviest arrives Sunday night

Sunday Night – Monday AM: Heaviest Rain & Strongest Winds

The main batch of rain arrives Sunday evening from west to east and continues overnight.

🌧️ Rain Totals: Around 1″, with localized 2-3″ amounts possible in southeastern New England
💨 Winds: Gusts 50-60 mph (highest along the coast)
🚨 Impacts: Isolated power outages,  tough Monday AM commute (east), localized flooding & river rises and ice movement (north)

Monday – Tuesday: Clearing & Cooling

📅 Monday: Morning downpours & wind, temps in the 50s, clearing arrives west to east
📅 Tuesday: Sunny & cooler, highs in the 40s & 50s
