The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Central and Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and the nearby coastal waters. This watch is effective until 2:00 AM EDT Thursday morning.
An organized squall line will continue to move east-northeast across southern New England through the late evening and early overnight hours. Widely scattered strong to severe gusts (50-65 mph) will be possible with the more intense thunderstorm cores and embedded surges in the squall line.
