It’s a slow process to get the new, lower dew point air into New England Thursday, but once it’s here, it’ll stick around through the weekend for most of us, with the exception of far Southern New England. This also knocks down the chance of showers considerably…but not entirely. Matt has details.
The cold front that caused showers and thunderstorms yesterday is now crossing New England, prompting a westerly and northwesterly wind. This will carve out a nice chunk of comfortable air across the northeastern United States. The process is slow, but by tonight, we’ll feel the difference. There’s still a chance for a shower or storm in Southeast New England and especially on the Cape this afternoon, but overall, the trend is toward drier, more pleasant weather.
Tomorrow, we can expect a blend of sun and clouds with no rain in the forecast. The air will feel wonderful, with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. Highs will be in the 80s, making for a fantastic Friday.
The comfortable air will stick around through the weekend (though the South Coast will feel a gradual uptick in humidity over the course of the weekend), but by early next week, we’ll see a return of humidity. A stalled front and a warm front moving in will drive up the chances of scattered showers later on Monday and again on Tuesday.
