Today’s weather is going to be quite pleasant! We’re talking about temperatures in the 60s and 70s, a gentle sea breeze at the coast, and a mix of sun and clouds overhead.
Now, if you’re heading out early, it’s a spring jacket kind of morning. Danielle Noyes says it’ll feel like the low 40s out the door, but that changes fast. By recess or lunchtime, most spots will be feeling like the upper 60s to near 70 — and even warmer inland. If you’re along the coast, the breeze off the cool ocean keeps things a little more subdued, especially along Cape Cod and the New Hampshire and Maine coasts, where highs stay in the upper 50s.
So what about the rest of the day? Most of us stay dry. There’s a very slim chance of a stray shower — really, just a brief sprinkle — but it’s not the kind of thing that will get in the way of any outdoor plans or after-school sports.
Tonight, things shift a bit. After about 9 or 10 PM, showers start to move into northwestern New England. Danielle’s watching a window between 2 and 4 AM where we could get a few downpours and even a rumble of thunder. The good news? That warm front moves through, and by mid to late morning Friday, most of the rain should be gone.
And then Friday — we warm right back up. Think 70s again for many, with more dry hours than wet. There is another chance for a thunderstorm Friday evening, which Danielle or Matt will have more on that in today’s Insights video, coming later this morning.
Of course, the weekend? Still unsettled. Areas of rain will be possible both days…though Sunday may improve (especially north), but we’ll be watching that closely and will update you as we fine-tune the timing.
In the meantime, enjoy what we’ve got today — a classic spring Thursday in New England.
