- Daytime highs: 85 to 90, potentially eclipsing 90 in a few spots, 80s along the coast. Heat index mid 90s in the hottest spots.
There’s a chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow morning, especially south of the Pike. These showers will lift north over the course of the midday and afternoon. It won’t rain the entire day by any means, but there’s a chance of showers or downpours, particularly north and west of Boston, lingering until early evening.
Outdoor Outlook for Friday:
- Mountains: Chance of a thunderstorm with temperatures around 80; summits about 10 degrees cooler.
- Lakes: Warm and humid, with water temperatures climbing through the 70s and air temperatures in the 80s. The UV index will be very high. Risk of a t’storm by evening.
- Beaches: Chance of a thunderstorm, especially on the South Shore and Cape in the morning to midday. The threat shifts north of Boston to the Seacoast during the afternoon to evening. Air temperatures will be in the 80s to near 90.
On the Water:
- Cape Cod: Water temperatures in the 70s on the Bay side, and 60s in eastern Massachusetts and up the coast of Maine.
- Rip Current Risk: Moderate for Friday, so use caution if heading to the beaches.
