We’re in for a bit of an unsettled stretch over the next few days, with scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms persisting through the middle of the week. It won’t be raining the entire time, but keep that umbrella handy as activity will pop up intermittently. Danielle has details on the next 24 hours in the video or if you prefer to read about the forecast, see below!
Today’s Forecast: Humid with Scattered Showers
- Temperature: Highs will range from 75 to 80 degrees for most of us today, with middle to upper 70s across southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire, and a few spots touching 80 degrees this afternoon.
- Humidity: The predicted dew point today is high, reaching the 60s to lower 70s, making for a sticky air mass. Far northern Maine will experience slightly drier conditions.
- Showers and Thunderstorms: Scattered showers and downpours have been focused across far western, central, and northern New England. Southern and eastern New England will see generally dry conditions through the mid to late morning, but additional showers will pop up and move from west to east through the afternoon. Southern New Hampshire, the Merrimack Valley, and Metro West are likely to see some of this activity.
- Evening Weather: Additional downpours and isolated thunderstorms are possible into the early evening, with brief heavy rain and lightning accompanying any storms that develop. We’re not expecting any severe weather today.
- Cloud Cover: Expect lots of clouds with some thin spots and occasional breaks. Lingering scattered showers will keep temperatures slightly cooler, running in the lower to middle 70s across the northern regions and 70 to 75 degrees in the Pine Tree State.
Tonight’s Forecast: Muggy with Lingering Showers
Overnight, conditions remain muggy with lingering showers, particularly along the South Coast. A stray shower is possible elsewhere, with some clearing starting to come into western New England. Winds will be light out of the east at around 5 miles per hour, and overnight lows will generally run in the 60s.
