Tuesday 1°Outside Today/Noyes’ Notes:
Warm Breeze Elevates Risk of Fire Danger

It will feel a lot like early summer today across New England, with temperatures soaring into the upper 70s and low 80s for many spots!

Meteorologist Danielle Noyes shares the latest Noyes’ Notes update for your Tuesday:

Today’s Highlights:

  • Warm and Breezy: Highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s inland, while coastal areas stay cooler with an ocean breeze keeping temperatures in the 60s.

  • Elevated Fire Risk: Due to dry ground and gusty winds (20–35 mph), there’s an elevated risk for fire spread. Please dispose of any ignition sources carefully today!

  • Evening Thunderstorm Risk:

    • Late this afternoon and evening, a few thunderstorms may develop in far northwestern Vermont, then drift into northern New Hampshire and northwest Maine.

    • The strongest storms will stay mainly west, but locally, expect brief gusty winds, downpours, and isolated lightning between about 3 PM and 10 PM.

Cold Front Changes:

  • A cold front will slide through tonight, ushering in noticeably cooler air for Wednesday.

  • An early morning isolated shower is possible followed by clearing skies Wednesday.

Looking Ahead:

  • Wednesday will be about 10–20 degrees cooler than today, but still seasonable.

  • Seventies return by Friday — although it will come with a more unsettled forecast. (More on that in today’s Insights video coming later.)
