Today may feel like a taste of early summer across New England, but some changes are coming by the weekend!

Today’s Setup:
Warm and breezy today with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Evening thunderstorms possible with a cold front sliding through tonight, especially across northern and western New England.
Most of the action weakens by overnight with just some leftover showers possible.
Midweek Forecast:
Wednesday: Noticeably cooler! Highs in the 60s for southern New England, and 40s to low 50s for northern New England. Sunshine returns quickly by late morning.
Thursday: Another beautiful day! Sun to increasing clouds, temperatures 65–70°, with a light southeast wind.
Thursday Night: Showers move in as a warm front lifts north.
Weekend Outlook:
Friday:
Two rounds of showers: one in the morning, another later in the day.
In between: a dry break with highs soaring back into the upper 70s and near 80° inland.
Breezy with gusts to 25–35 mph.
Saturday:
Unsettled weather lingers.
Pockets of rain, scattered showers, and cooler temps north with milder air south.
Timing and placement of the heaviest rain will be refined later this week.
Sunday:
Improvement expected! Some lingering showers possible, mainly in northern New England.
The Bigger Picture:
A piece of upper-level energy currently over Alaska will slide toward New England by the weekend, fueling unsettled conditions Saturday and early Sunday.
No major frost threats for most areas, except a very slight chance in far northern valleys Wednesday night.
Pollen counts remain very high — tree pollen dominates, with no soaking rain to knock it down soon!
