Tuesday Insights:
Midweek Bliss Ahead of Next Disturbance…Coming Partially from Alaska!

Today may feel like a taste of early summer across New England, but some changes are coming by the weekend!

Meteorologist Danielle Noyes shares today’s 1DegreeOutside Insights:

Today’s Setup:

  • Warm and breezy today with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

  • Evening thunderstorms possible with a cold front sliding through tonight, especially across northern and western New England.

  • Most of the action weakens by overnight with just some leftover showers possible.

Midweek Forecast:

  • Wednesday: Noticeably cooler! Highs in the 60s for southern New England, and 40s to low 50s for northern New England. Sunshine returns quickly by late morning.

  • Thursday: Another beautiful day! Sun to increasing clouds, temperatures 65–70°, with a light southeast wind.

  • Thursday Night: Showers move in as a warm front lifts north.

Weekend Outlook:

  • Friday:

    • Two rounds of showers: one in the morning, another later in the day.

    • In between: a dry break with highs soaring back into the upper 70s and near 80° inland.

    • Breezy with gusts to 25–35 mph.

  • Saturday:

    • Unsettled weather lingers.

    • Pockets of rain, scattered showers, and cooler temps north with milder air south.

    • Timing and placement of the heaviest rain will be refined later this week.

  • Sunday:

    • Improvement expected! Some lingering showers possible, mainly in northern New England.

The Bigger Picture:

  • A piece of upper-level energy currently over Alaska will slide toward New England by the weekend, fueling unsettled conditions Saturday and early Sunday.

  • No major frost threats for most areas, except a very slight chance in far northern valleys Wednesday night.

  • Pollen counts remain very high — tree pollen dominates, with no soaking rain to knock it down soon!
