Wednesday Insights: A Breather Now, Rain Renews, Then An Amazing Turn This Weekend

Matt Noyes is spending plenty of time outlining the weekend forecast for us in our Wednesday Insights video – and it looks like our stretch of unsettled weather takes a huge about face by Sunday.  For some, it’s sooner – and for others, still, there’s plenty to enjoy in the next 24 hours before rain returns. Get all the details in the video now.

Friday brings a renewed round of rain – yes, the buckets return. Some areas could see another 2 to 3 inches, especially in Western and Central New England. Combined with saturated ground, that means we’ll need to keep an eye on small stream and urban flooding, as well as some rivers by Friday night into Saturday morning.

But wait… there’s good news ahead.

👀 The Outlook:

  • Thursday: A breather! Mostly dry for many, especially early. Some scattered evening showers and even thunder will pop as warmth builds back in.

  • Friday: Soaking rain returns. Expect rain most of the day and night. Eastern areas may see less intensity for awhile during the day, but it still won’t be a pretty day.

  • Saturday: Here’s the shift — rain lingers north, but Southern New England may dry out, especially by afternoon.

  • Sunday: The payoff. Widespread sunshine, light wind, highs in the 70s. One of the nicest days we’ve had in over a week.
