Wednesday Insights:
Eclipse Cloud Update + Weekend Warmth & Strong Winds!

If you’re hoping to catch Thursday night’s total lunar eclipse, you may have to get lucky! Clouds will be a big factor, though northern New England may get a few breaks. Meanwhile, a big warm-up brings highs into the 60s this weekend, but also strong winds & late weekend rain.

Will We See the Lunar Eclipse?

The total eclipse peaks at 3 AM early Friday morning, but clouds will be stubborn for much of the region.

☁️ Cloud Forecast:

  • Best chance for clearing: Northern VT, NH & central ME 🌕
  • Southern & eastern New England: Mostly cloudy, some thin breaks possible
  • Western New England: Clouds may break up toward dawn

📌 Bottom Line: Clouds could block the view for many, but we’re watching for possible breaks!

Weekend Warmth – Could We Hit 70?

Spring surges in this weekend! Highs well into the 50s to lower 60s Saturday, much if not all of the region into the 60s Sunday.

💨 Winds will ramp up quickly Sunday morning, with gusts reaching 40-60 mph by the afternoon & evening.

🌧️ Rain Timeline:

  • Sunday Afternoon: A few showers (west and north), mostly dry elsewhere
  • Sunday Night: Steady rain moves in, could linger into Monday AM (east)
  • Rainfall Estimates: 0.5-1.0” for most, some higher totals in southeastern New England (where there are some signals of 1-3″ possible)

📌 Winds could bring isolated damage & power outages, especially along the South Coast & Cape Cod.
