Weekend Edition & Insights: 🌤️ Storm-Free Weekend! Milder Temps & Perfect Winter Sports Weather! ❄️

For the first time in a month, no widespread winter weather is expected for New England.  There will still be some snow showers in the mountains – particularly on Sunday – but that’ll add ambiance and only create slick mountain roads for a time. Matt Noyes shifts gears to a more relaxed delivery after weeks of non-stop delivery…but still delivers!  Matt covers all we need to know for the weekend and beyond in the combo Weekend Insights and Weekend Edition!

This is the kind of winter weekend New Englanders dream of—snow-covered landscapes but no major travel headaches! If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to hit the mountains, this is it.

Saturday: A Perfect Winter Day

Saturday brings a blend of sun and clouds, seasonable temperatures, and a much lighter wind.

🌡️ Highs: 30s in southern New England, upper 20s to low 30s in the north.
🌬️ Wind: Light compared to recent days—making for a comfortable winter day.
🎿 Best Ski Day: If you’re heading to the mountains, expect packed powder conditions and great visibility.

Snow lovers, this is your weekend to hit the slopes, go snowmobiling, or just enjoy a walk in the winter air without having to shovel first!

Sunday: Some Snow Showers, but No Major Impact

A weak cold front will slide through on Sunday, sparking scattered snow showers in the mountains, particularly across the northern Greens, White Mountains, and western Maine.

🌨️ Morning: Light snow showers for the northern mountains, a coating to an inch or two possible.
🌥️ Afternoon: Snow showers break apart, so the drive home from ski country shouldn’t be an issue.
🌡️ Highs: 35-40° south, 30-35° north.

Even if you’re not hitting the slopes, Sunday will be another pleasant winter day with some sunshine mixed with clouds.

Next Week: A Warming Trend & Tracking the Next Storm

🌡️ Monday: A little warmer! Highs in the 40s for many, still 30s in the north.
🌧️ Tuesday: Highs nearing 50 in Southern New England. A weak system may bring scattered showers, with rain likely in southern New England and possibly some snowflakes in the north.
🌦️ Thursday: Tracking a larger storm. Right now, it looks like rain in the south and snow in the mountains, but the details will come into focus in the coming days.

By the first week of March, the pattern appears to turn more active again, with storm chances increasing. While it’s too soon to say how much snow will be involved, this brief break from storminess won’t last forever.
