If you’re stepping outside today, you’ll still notice the wind, though it won’t be quite as wild as yesterday. Gusts 40-45 mph will still add a bite to the air, and a few passing snow showers could make a brief appearance. Sunday brings less wind and seasonable temperatures (4os south, 30s north) ahead of another warm-up next week.
Even though today’s wind won’t be as damaging as Friday’s, it’s still strong enough to knock around loose objects and cause isolated power outages. Most areas will see gusts of 40-45 mph, with a few spots topping 50 mph in higher elevations.
A few flurries or passing snow showers are possible, but they won’t amount to much. If you’re in northern Vermont, northern New Hampshire, or far northern Maine, some light accumulations of a coating to an inch or two may occur, especially with elevation.
With highs only in the 30s and low 40s, and wind chills in the teens & 20s, you’ll still need to wear the winter coat if you’re spending time outside.
📌 Reminder: Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday morning! Clocks jump ahead one hour at 2 AM.
By Sunday, winds drop to a more manageable 15-25 mph, with gusts occasionally reaching 30-35 mph. You’ll still notice it, but compared to the last couple of days, it will feel much more comfortable.
Highs will reach the 40s in central & southern New England, with 30s to the north. The morning starts sunny, but clouds will build through the afternoon, and a quick snow shower or flurry is possible in central & northern New England.
A quick clipper system moves in Monday, bringing scattered rain and snow showers, mainly in northern and central New England. Since temperatures will be above freezing, any snow won’t stick long, but a few slick spots could develop early in the morning. We’ll keep an eye on it!
By midweek, a southwest wind will bring some of the mildest air we’ve seen in weeks. Highs will climb into the 50s, with some spots jumping into the 60s. And…NEXT weekend looks like the warmest air we’ve had so far since the Fall.
