Weekend Insights: Rain, Thunder, Summit Snow and a Quick Rebound

Meteorologist Matt Noyes shares that the brush fire danger, which has been elevated, will ease thanks to incoming rain – but that rain comes at the expense of Saturday outdoor plans for some of us.  Watch the video for full details to plan the weekend, plus we’ll have our usual Saturday AM update posting to our website and atop the homescreen of our 1DegreeOutside Weather app!

🌧️ Friday Night: Mild with Showers North

  • Light showers drift across northern and central New England Friday evening.

  • Southern New England stays mostly dry and mild.

  • No risk of frost overnight – 40s and 50s region-wide.

☔ Saturday: Periods of Rain, Possible Thunder

  • Saturday morning starts wet across most of New England.

  • From late morning to mid-afternoon, rain may break into more scattered showers, especially in southern and eastern areas.

  • If a break develops, afternoon temperatures could spike into the upper 60s or even near 70° – and that could spark thunderstorms by late day or evening.

“It’s not a cold rain Saturday,” Matt says. “Humidity builds, and some thunder is possible late.”

❄️ Sunday: Breezy, Cool, Mountain Snow Showers

  • Sunday sees a cooler, brisk wind with temps stuck in the 40s north and 50s south.

  • Showers linger in the northern mountains – and in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine’s higher elevations, summit snowflakes will mix in.

  • Gusts could reach 30-40 mph Sunday afternoon.

🌡️ Quick Rebound Next Week

  • Monday: Highs rebound to near 70°

  • Tuesday: Highs reach 75°+ inland

A beautiful spring pattern takes hold once again next week!
