Heading into the weekend, New England is on the edge of an atmospheric transition, with Friday’s comfortable air giving way to increasing heat and humidity. According to meteorologist Matt Noyes at the 1DegreeOutside Weather Network, Saturday starts strong – mild, comfortable, with only isolated shower potential and highs well into the 80s.
By Saturday night into early Sunday morning, a weak disturbance may spark scattered showers or thunderstorms, especially across northern and eastern New England. It’s short-lived, and once it moves through, Sunday afternoon brings back the sizzle, with highs in the low 90s and dew points climbing to tropical levels. The true heat hits Monday and Tuesday, when widespread 90s to near 100°F return. Boston may reach 97°F on Tuesday, with heat index values topping 105-110°F from Boston to Philly, NYC & Richmond.
Matt notes that the humidity builds slowly but firmly, beginning late Saturday. These increasingly humid conditions, combined with subtle atmospheric energy, mean we’ll need to monitor for pop-up thunderstorms late each day, especially Sunday and early Monday.
Now if you’re headed to the Acton Lions Club Carnival – wow, what a gem of weekend, especially compared to the stretch we’ve had lately. We have an exclusive code to save on tickets, thanks to Fiesta Shows!
