Monday Insights:
Heat Peaks Tuesday but Relief is in Sight

It is hot!  Tuesday is expected to deliver the peak heat – when temperatures will likely eclipse 100 in spots. Danielle Noyes of the 1DegreeOutside Weather Network outlines a surge in heat and humidity, scarsely interrupted only for brief, localized storms the next couple of days.

On Tuesday, tropical dew points in the upper 60s to low 70s will make the air heavy and oppressive across many areas. Any pop‑up thunderstorm in this moisture-laden atmosphere poses a risk for strong to severe conditions, including gusty winds, small hail, and torrential downpours.

Wednesday will still be hot through the interior, though a seabreeze will bring some relief to the coast.  New storms are possible, especially over southern New England, and slow-moving systems could trigger heavy rainfall in isolated spots. Northern New England will actually start to see some relief later on Wednesday and drier air works into the region.

Humidity will continue to drop on Thursday and a cooler wind off the ocean will ease the temperatures too – many of us will be in the 70s. The south coast/Cape Cod will still hold some tropical moisture early in the day before less humid air arrives. Friday brings comfortable temperatures for everyone in the 70s, though it will come with some clouds and a few showers mainly in southern New England.

Danielle reminds everyone: this is extreme heat – strain on the body is real. Even nights stay muggy (lows in the 70s), which means limited overnight cool-down. That’s why maintaining hydration, taking breaks in shade or AC, and staying weather-alert are all vital.
