Weekend Edition:
August 9-10, 2025

It’s a perfect weekend to be outside – especially if you’re headed to the Bolton Fair! We’re enjoying a stretch of nearly flawless weather across New England, thanks to high pressure both at the surface and aloft, keeping storm systems at bay and sunshine dominant.

Saturday’s forecast features sunshine, dry air, and highs in the 80s – with 70s along the south coast. While a stray storm may pop up in far northern New England (think the Crown of Maine), most of us stay dry all day and night. You may notice a little high-altitude wildfire smoke, giving the sky a hazy look at times, but it will stay aloft and not impact air quality.

Sunday brings even warmer weather, with inland highs approaching 90°F, especially in spots like Manchester, Keene, Fitchburg, and Hartford. Despite the warmth, humidity remains low, keeping the air comfortable. Coastal communities will see slightly cooler conditions, with 70s to low 80s. Sunday night will still be pleasant for sleeping, though patchy fog and low clouds may form inland.

Starting Monday, the real heat kicks in. Temperatures will rise into the low 90s across much of New England, marking the start of a potential heat wave that continues into Tuesday and Wednesday. The humidity will surge, pushing dew points into the upper 60s and low 70s, which could send the heat index toward 100°F in some areas.
