It’s a great-looking summer weekend across New England, with plenty of sunshine Saturday, some building humidity on Sunday, and a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms late in the weekend into Monday.
High pressure sliding offshore brings a clockwise flow of air, which means a southeasterly and southerly breeze both today and tomorrow. Saturday is mostly sunny with just a few fair-weather clouds. A stray sprinkle can’t be ruled out, but overall it’s a terrific summer day with highs in the 80s and comfortable humidity. Tonight turns milder, with lows in the 60s under partly cloudy skies.
Sunday starts fair, though clouds increase and humidity returns. Dew points climb into the 60s, making it feel noticeably stickier, and in some inland spots it may feel like it’s near 90. While most of the day remains dry for southern and eastern areas, scattered showers and storms are likely across northern and western New England, especially late in the day.
By Sunday night, showers and storms expand into more of the region, with scattered downpours and embedded thunder on Monday. While not a washout, Monday will feature unsettled skies, variable clouds, and showers that keep temperatures lower than the weekend.
Behind the front, Tuesday turns cooler and less humid with sunshine returning. Overall, a great summer weekend, but one that ends on a more unsettled note — and one you’ll want to keep the umbrella handy for by Monday.
