Tuesday 1°Outside Today/Noyes’ Notes: A Day to Soak Up in New England

After a long holiday weekend, Tuesday greets New Englanders with a fantastic forecast – and a smooth “re-entry” back to routine. According to Matt Noyes, it’s one of those perfect spring days with sunshine, light wind, and temperatures rising well into the 70s. Even the Crown of Maine hits the mid-to-upper 70s today!

While the day begins with some patchy fog and a morning chill in the 40s, it quickly transitions to shorts-and-short-sleeves weather. Light winds will prevail, although a weak sea breeze may kick in later near the coast due to the strong inland heating and still-cool ocean waters.

An isolated shower may pop up in the mountains of northern New England during the afternoon, but most communities stay completely dry. The beautiful weather continues into Wednesday, though clouds will gradually increase. Unsettled conditions return Thursday and Friday with scattered showers and storms – and the weekend bears watching for a possible developing coastal storm.

Low temperatures tonight drop into the 50s for most, with some 40s in sheltered valleys. Stay tuned to 1DegreeOutside for Insights later this morning, where Matt will take a deeper dive into the weekend setup.
